Popular CR2032 pairings

Highest-traffic CR2032 pairings: thickness, brand labels, CR2032L, and rechargeable near-matches.

Usually interchangeable

CR2032 vs CR2032H: Is the H a Different Size?

CR2032H is not a thicker or wider cell. Both are 20 × 3.2 mm, 3V lithium coin cells. The H (most often Maxell) marks a higher-pulse design for remotes and sensors that draw short current spikes.

Not interchangeable

CR2032 vs LR44: Why These Are Not Interchangeable

Shoppers pair these because both are common “button” batteries. CR2032 is a 20 × 3.2 mm, 3V lithium coin. LR44 (AG13) is an 11.6 × 5.4 mm, 1.5V alkaline cell. Size and voltage both miss.

Not interchangeable

CR2032 vs CR1620: Diameter and Thickness Both Differ

Both are 3V lithium coins, which is why they get compared. CR2032 is 20 × 3.2 mm; CR1620 is 16 × 2.0 mm. Neither dimension matches.

Not interchangeable

CR2032 vs CR2430: 20 mm vs 24.5 mm

Heights are close (3.2 mm vs 3.0 mm), so the names look related. CR2430 is a 24.5 mm cell in the CR2450 diameter family. It will not sit in a 20 mm CR2032 clip.

Not interchangeable

CR2032 vs CR1616: Two Numbers, Two Form Factors

CR1616 is a 16 × 1.6 mm lithium coin used in slim remotes. CR2032 is 20 × 3.2 mm. The shared “16/32” look is a naming coincidence — 16 vs 32 here is height on different diameters.

Sometimes

CR2032 vs CR2032L: Is the L Suffix a Different Battery?

CR2032L is not a new IEC size. Both cells are 20 × 3.2 mm, 3V lithium coin cells. The extra “L” is a manufacturer suffix — often a low-drain mark or a brand/terminal variant — not a license to buy a random thinner or rechargeable cell.

Not interchangeable

CR2032 vs LIR2032: Why Rechargeable 2032 Cells Are Not Drop-Ins

They share a 20 × 3.2 mm outline and that is where the similarity ends. CR2032 is a 3.0 V primary lithium cell (~220–240 mAh). LIR2032 is a rechargeable lithium-ion cell at about 3.6–3.7 V with only ~35–45 mAh.

Not interchangeable

CR2032 vs ML2032: Primary Cell vs Rechargeable Backup

ML2032 matches the CR2032 outline but is a rechargeable manganese-lithium cell with much lower capacity. It belongs only in boards that charge it. A CMOS tray that came with a disposable CR2032 is not that circuit.

Usually interchangeable

CR2032 vs ECR2032: Energizer Label vs IEC Code

ECR2032 is Energizer's brand name for a standard CR2032 lithium coin cell. Dimensions (20 × 3.2 mm), nominal voltage (3V), and typical capacity are the same class of product.

Not interchangeable

CR2032 vs CR3032: The 20 mm vs 30 mm Mix-Up

The names look related because both end in 32 (3.2 mm height). CR2032 is 20 mm wide; CR3032 is 30 mm wide. Capacity is higher on CR3032, but it will not enter a CR2032 holder.

Usually interchangeable

CR2032 vs DL2032: What's the Difference?

DL2032 is Duracell's brand name for a standard CR2032 lithium coin cell. Dimensions (20 × 3.2 mm), nominal voltage (3V), and typical capacity are the same class of product.

Not interchangeable

CR2025 vs CR2032: Same 20 mm, Different Thickness

A CR2025 vs CR2032 decision looks simple because both cells are 20 mm wide and both are 3 V lithium coins. The difference is height: 2.5 mm versus 3.2 mm. That 0.7 mm decides whether a key-fob door closes, whether the spring keeps pressure, and how long the device runs after you install the right cell.

Not interchangeable

CR2016 vs CR2032: Same Diameter, Half the Height

CR2016 is the ultra-thin 20 mm lithium coin at 1.6 mm height. CR2032 is the everyday 3.2 mm version — nearly twice as thick with much higher capacity.

Not interchangeable

CR1632 vs CR2032: Diameter Difference

CR1632 is a 16 × 3.2 mm lithium coin; CR2032 is 20 × 3.2 mm. Same height family, different diameter — a frequent mix-up at checkout because both end in “32”.

Sometimes

CR2032 vs BR2032: Chemistry Choice

Same 20 × 3.2 mm size. CR2032 (Li-MnO2) is the consumer default with higher typical capacity; BR2032 (Li-CFx) is specified for wider temperature / long industrial RTC backup.

Not interchangeable

CR2032 vs CR2450: Diameter, Capacity, and Which to Buy

Both are 3V lithium coin cells, but CR2032 is 20 × 3.2 mm (~220–240 mAh) while CR2450 is 24.5 × 5.0 mm (~550–620 mAh). Diameter and thickness both differ — they are different form factors, not brand aliases.

All other comparisons

Not interchangeable

CR2430 vs CR2450: Can You Replace One with the Other?

Both are 3V lithium coin cells with a 24.5 mm diameter, but CR2450 is 5.0 mm thick while CR2430 is only 3.0 mm. Capacity roughly doubles with the thicker cell — and so does the chance of a jammed battery door.

Sometimes

LR44 vs 357: Are They Interchangeable?

LR44 is alkaline (1.5V) and 357 is silver oxide (1.55V). They share the same 11.6 × 5.4 mm outline, so many holders accept either — but watches and meters usually prefer silver oxide for flatter voltage.

Usually interchangeable

LR44 vs AG13: Same Battery?

AG13 is the alkaline retail label for the same 11.6 × 5.4 mm, 1.5V cell as LR44 (also sold as A76 / 76A).

Sometimes

SR44 vs LR44: Silver Oxide vs Alkaline

Same 11.6 × 5.4 mm outline. SR44 (silver oxide, 1.55V) keeps a flatter discharge curve; LR44 (alkaline, 1.5V) is cheaper and sags sooner under load.

Usually interchangeable

AG13 vs A76: Same Alkaline Cell, Different Labels

Both are alkaline LR44-size cells. AG13 is a generic/AG retail label; A76 is Energizer’s equivalent name. Duracell often uses 76A.

Sometimes

CR2450 vs BR2450: Same Size, Different Chemistry

Same 24.5 × 5.0 mm size. CR2450 (Li-MnO2) usually offers higher capacity at room temperature; BR2450 (Li-CFx) is chosen for wider temperature range and long-term industrial backup.

Not interchangeable

AA vs AAA Batteries: Size and Use Cases

AA (≈14.5 × 50.5 mm) and AAA (≈10.5 × 44.5 mm) are both common 1.5V alkaline sizes. Capacity and physical fit differ — adapters exist but reduce convenience and often capacity.

Sometimes

357 vs 303 Watch Battery

Both are SR44-family silver oxide cells (11.6 × 5.4 mm). 357 is typically the high-drain label; 303 is the low-drain counterpart on many watch charts.

Not interchangeable

18650 vs AA: Not the Same Battery

18650 is an 18 × 65 mm lithium-ion cell (~3.7V). AA is a 14.5 × 50.5 mm alkaline (or NiMH) cell at 1.5V / 1.2V. Similar “cylinder” shape, completely different electrical systems.

Not interchangeable

LR41 vs LR44: Same Family, Different Size

LR41 (AG3/L736) is 7.9 × 3.6 mm. LR44 (AG13) is 11.6 × 5.4 mm. Both are alkaline button cells — and that is where the similarity ends.

Not interchangeable

CR2354 vs CR2450: Diameter Matters

Both are high-capacity 3V lithium coins near 5 mm thick, but CR2354 is 23 mm wide while CR2450 is 24.5 mm. Shoppers often cross-search them; holders rarely accept both.

Not interchangeable

CR2354 vs CR2330: Same Diameter, Different Thickness

Same 23 mm diameter family. CR2354 is 5.4 mm thick; CR2330 is 3.0 mm thick. Capacity and door clearance both change with height.

Usually interchangeable

L736 vs LR41: Same Alkaline Size?

L736 is a high-intent search/retail label for the LR41/AG3 alkaline family (7.9 × 3.6 mm). For watches, silver oxide SR41/392/SR736SW is usually the better long-term choice.

Usually interchangeable

L1131 vs LR1130: Are They the Same?

Both refer to the thin 11.6 × ~3.0 mm alkaline button family also sold as AG10. They are shopping equivalents — and both are much thinner than LR44.

Not interchangeable

L1131 vs LR44: Thickness Trap

Same ~11.6 mm diameter, but LR44 is 5.4 mm thick while L1131/LR1130 is about 3 mm. A classic calculator/thermometer ordering mistake.

Not interchangeable

SR920SW vs SR626SW (371 vs 377): Size Difference

371 is SR920SW at 9.5 × 2.1 mm; 377 is SR626SW at 6.8 × 2.6 mm. Both are 1.55V silver oxide watch cells, but their diameter and thickness differ, so they are not interchangeable.

Not interchangeable

CR2450 vs CR2477: Capacity vs Height

Same 24.5 mm diameter. CR2477 is much taller (7.7 mm) with higher capacity (~900–1000 mAh). Most CR2450 trays cannot accept the extra height.

Not interchangeable

675 vs LR44: Hearing Aid vs Alkaline

Same 11.6 × 5.4 mm outline. Size 675 is zinc-air (blue tab) for hearing aids; LR44 is alkaline for toys and gadgets. Chemistry — not size — decides compatibility.

Not interchangeable

AA vs 14500: Voltage Danger

Similar cylinder size, but AA alkaline is 1.5V and 14500 Li-ion is about 3.7V. That voltage jump can destroy electronics that were only designed for AA.

Not interchangeable

CR123A vs 18650: Size, Voltage, and Why They Are Not Swaps

CR123A is a compact 3V lithium primary (~17 × 34.5 mm) used in cameras, security sensors, and many tactical lights. 18650 is a much larger 3.7V rechargeable Li-ion cell (~18 × 65 mm) used in high-drain flashlights and battery packs. They are different tools — not alternate stock-keeping units for the same tray.

Not interchangeable

AG13 vs AG3: Easy Mix-Up

AG13 is LR44-size (11.6 mm). AG3 is LR41/L736-size (7.9 mm). One digit in the AG code changes the entire form factor.

Not interchangeable

364 vs 377: Watch Battery Height

Both are 6.8 mm wide silver oxide cells. 364/SR621SW is 2.1 mm thick; 377/SR626SW is 2.6 mm thick. Height is the entire story.

Not interchangeable

CR123A vs CR2: Size, Capacity, and Compatibility

Both are 3V lithium primary cylinders used in cameras, sensors, and specialty lights — but CR123A (~17 × 34.5 mm) is larger and higher capacity than CR2 (~15.6 × 27 mm). They are not drop-in replacements for each other.

Not interchangeable

LR44 vs LR1130: Same Diameter, Different Thickness

LR44 (AG13/A76) and LR1130 (AG10/L1131) share an ~11.6 mm diameter and 1.5V alkaline chemistry, but LR44 is 5.4 mm thick while LR1130 is only ~3.0 mm. Mixing them up is one of the most common button-cell shopping errors.
